Badgers like to reside in mature woodland
with nearby pasture where they excavate extensive
burrow systems or sets with their powerful legs
and long strong claws. They are nocturnal animals
and live in family groups or clans , each of
which occupies a large and distinctive territory
actively defended from others. Badgers feed on a
wide range of animals and plants but prefer
earthworms.
